On December 16, 2024, In honor of the 30-year anniversary of U.S. - Vietnam relations in 2025, the U.S. Mission to Vietnam announces the opening of the recruitment season for Vietnamese institutions interested in hosting a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) during the 2025 - 2026 academic year.
This program invites gifted high schools, colleges, and universities outside of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to apply to host a native English language teaching assistant for one academic year from September 2025 to May 2026. The ETA Program aims to support English teaching and learning at Vietnamese educational institutions. ETAs’ responsibilities include teaching English through listening and speaking while implementing cultural exchange programs.
First launched in 2008, the Vietnam ETA program seeks to foster English learning in Vietnam while providing for cultural exchange between Americans and Vietnamese students to promote mutual understanding and intercultural cooperation. ETAs are U.S. college graduates eager to teach English overseas and serve as cultural ambassadors of the United States.
Building on the historic upgrade of U.S. – Vietnam relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in September 2023 and celebrating the 30th anniversary of U.S. – Vietnam Relations in 2025, we invite Vietnamese gifted high schools, colleges and universities to apply for the opportunity to host a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant to support with English teaching and learning at your institution to advance our shared goals.
The deadline to submit an application is March 15, 2025.
