Looking forward to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations between Vietnam and the United States in 2025, the CDC Vietnam Country Director shared that the 30-year milestone in diplomatic relations is a very important time. This is a very special time to reflect on the journey traveled and look back on how strong the relationship between the two countries has become.
"Health has always been a priority area in the bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and the United States from the very beginning. When there was no treatment for HIV, the two countries worked together to find treatment methods for those living with this disease. Next, in 2005, when there was an outbreak of H5N1 or most recently during the Covid-19 pandemic, Vietnam and the United States quickly coordinated to find a timely and effective solution.
Diseases have no borders and can spread from one country to another. Helping Vietnam to be safer also makes the United States and the rest of the world safer and healthier. That is also the understanding of the leaders of both sides, and therefore health remains an important pillar," shared Eric Dziuban.
