Announcement of the Fulbright Master’s Scholarship Program for Academic Year 2027–2028

TCVM - The U.S. Mission to Vietnam has officially announced the Fulbright Master’s Scholarship Program for the 2027–2028 academic year, offering fully funded scholarships for Vietnamese citizens to pursue graduate studies in the United States, further strengthening educational cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

Hanoi, January 14, 2026 – The U.S. Mission to Vietnam has announced that the Fulbright Program will provide fully funded scholarships for Vietnamese citizens to pursue master’s degree programs in the United States for the 2027–2028 academic year.

Established in 1946 with funding from the U.S. Congress, the Fulbright Program aims to enhance mutual understanding between nations through educational and cultural exchange. It is a merit-based and competitive program that selects candidates based on academic achievement, professional capacity, and leadership potential. The Fulbright Master’s Scholarship covers full tuition, round-trip airfare to the United States, a monthly living stipend, and health insurance for the duration of the program.

Eligible applicants must meet the minimum requirements, including Vietnamese citizenship and residence in Vietnam throughout the application process, with no dual nationality; completion of an undergraduate degree; a minimum of two years of professional experience after earning the bachelor’s degree by the application deadline; and demonstrated English proficiency with a valid minimum score of TOEFL iBT 80, IELTS 6.5, Duolingo 110, or TOEFL Essentials 8.5. Applicants from all regions of Vietnam and all academic disciplines are encouraged to apply, with particular emphasis placed on candidates from science, technology, engineering, and related fields. Interested candidates may submit their applications online through the Fulbright application portal: https://apply.iie.org/ffsp2027/. A complete online application package includes the application form, three letters of recommendation, academic degrees and transcripts from the undergraduate level onward with certified English translations, valid English language test scores, and a curriculum vitae. The application deadline is 5:00 p.m. (Vietnam time) on April 15, 2026.
