At the event, the Vietnam-US Association was represented by Mr. Pham Quang Vinh, Chairman of the Vietnam-US Association; Mr. Bui The Giang, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam-US Association; and Mr. Bui Van Nghi, General Secretary of the Vietnam-US Association, Head of the Americas Department of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations. VVA was joined by Mr. Grant T. Coates, Chair of the POW/MIA Committee, and Ms. Mokie Pratt Porter, Director of Communications and Public Affairs of the VVA.
Vietnam and the US have continued to promote effective and practical solutions to heal the wounds of war.
With a mission to promote and fully support important issues concerning US Vietnam War veterans, such as welfare, assistance to veterans in need of employment, healthcare, training, and more, the VVA is committed to shifting American public perception positively towards veterans who served in Vietnam.
This is an important aspect contributing to promoting the development of the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and the United States, creating conditions for strengthening trust between the two countries.
During the meeting, Ambassador Pham Quang Vinh noted that both parties shared a common mission in promoting reconciliation, mutual understanding, and healing the wounds of war. Ambassador Bui The Giang also emphasized the need for Vietnam and the United States to make greater efforts in addressing the long-term effects of Agent Orange. Regarding the relationship between Vietnam and the United States, Mr. Grant T. Coates observed that Vietnam was unified, shared a common voice, and had a common vision with the United States in cooperation and development, promoting understanding between the peoples of the two countries and jointly healing the relationship. Ms. Mokie Pratt Porter also believed that this would be a significant step in strengthening trust and mutual understanding, laying the groundwork for the Vietnam-US relationship to develop more robustly and positively in the years to come.

The Vietnam Veterans of America, Inc. (VVA) organization, established in 1978, is the only national organization registered in the US Congress, serving the interests of Vietnam War veterans and their families. The VVA is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization under US law. The founder and first chairman of the VVA was Mr. Robert Muller.
