TCVM - Author of several outstanding articles on Tien Phong newspaper, journalist Nguyen Viet Hung was an outstanding writer. Joining the “International Visitors” program by invitation from the United States Department of State, he travelled across America,. during which he got to observe the life of Americans in both urban and rural areas. To honor and commemorate an admirable journalist and a dear friend of the Vietnam – US Magazine, we are proud to re-publish one of his articles about his trip in the U.S.

TCVM - A quarter of a century has passed since President of the United States of America Bill Clinton and Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam Vo Van Kiet officially announced the normalization of relations and establishment of formal diplomatic ties between Viet Nam and the United States (12 July 1995 – 12 July 2020). Having surpassed initial hesitations, through the tireless efforts from both countries and nations, Viet Nam and the United States have become friends, and Comprehensive Partners in all areas, with broad prospects for cooperation in the future.

TCVM - A special guest was invited to a talk on the topic of commemorating 25th normalization of Vietnam – US bilateral relations, held in the morning of July 8th at Dong Ha (Quang Tri) by project RENEW (an organization specialized in minesweeping operation and war’s consequence overcoming in Quang Tri) along with Norwegian People's Aid Vietnam (NPA). He is Chuck Searcy, a veteran of the US Army during Vietnam war, who has been living and working in Vietnam since 1995.

It has been 12 years since I stopped being a government officer, and now I continue to have my contributions to the development of the relation between two countries through activities of people-to-people diplomacy” – Ambassador Nguyen Tam Chien, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, second Vietnamese Ambassador to the US in the 2001-2007 period, who is now the Chairman of the Vietnam - US Association, began his story.
